Chicken with Onion Sauce 葱油鸡

Another easy chicken receipt here! I bought a big bag of chicken wings parts, used drumsticks here and used wing parts for fried salt & pepper chicken wings which will be on my next post. You also can use legs or breast meat, but I like use dark meat here.

Cook chicken in broiling water on high for 20-30 minutes. Add some sliced ginger and cooking wine in the water. Then, turn off the heat, keep cover on and let chicken continue to cook in the hot water until cool. Meanwhile, make the sauce...

Dice green onions, garlic, ginger, put all in a bowl. Add chill pepper if you like spicy. Heat 1 cup cooking oil on stove (add more oil if you cook large amount of chicken). Then pour hot oil over the green onion mix, stir. while still hot, add soy sauce, sugar, salt and ground pepper to taste. Stir and mix well.

After chicken cooked in the hot water, take them out and put into a large bowl of cold water, rinse them out and place on a serving plate. Pour the onion sauce over the chicken...and done!

It can be served warn or old. Good with steamed rice or beer .
