When Cherry is in season, it costs less to make this delicious healthy snack. Microwave makes much easier and serve cold is more yummy!
Simple ingredients:
- 1 to 1 1/2 lb. fresh red bin cherries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- salt and water
- Wash and clean the cherries and take out the stems. Soak the cherries with water and salt for at least 2 hours at room temperature. (not every salty water, lightly salted)
- Drain the water out and place cherries in a large microwaveable bowl. Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar over the cherries, shake a little to mix well.
- Microwave on high without the cover for 4 minutes. Drain the juice out ( it can be used to make cherry drinks). Then microwave another 4 minutes and drain the juice out again. Repeat 2-3 times more until the cherry skin turns wrinkle or until your desired look.
- Cool in the refrigerator and serve cold.
